Important Announcement, May 2008

Following the acquisition of Legend Communications plc by THUS plc in 2006, we have been carrying out an integration programme for all products and services. We are now in the process of migrating Domain Names GB (DNGB) email and domain services onto those provided through our Demon brand. As a former Legend email or domain name customer, we are contacting you with details of the next steps in this process and further details of our email service features.

Customers of email services

If you are an email service customer, you will need to follow the instructions below which explain how to migrate your service. You will need your Control Panel username and password during the migration. You must complete the migration process for all of your email accounts by 19th May 2008. After this date, email retrieval from the old mail platform will no longer be available.

How to migrate your email account(s):

  1. Go to the Control Panel
  2. Enter the Control Panel username and password. Your Username is your Account number. If you do not know your Control Panel password, please use the 'Forgotten Password' request available on the Control Panel login page - this will email login details to your account's administrative contact address. If for any reason you are unable to log into the Control Panel or receive a reminder of your login details please contact 1stline@premier-support.co.uk.
  3. Select the domain for migration.
  4. Read and accept the terms and conditions for the Demon Mail Platform.
  5. Confirm the migration of the selected domain.
  6. On completion of the migration, a new username and password will be provided for each mailbox associated with the migrated domain.
  7. This process should be followed for each domain.
  8. It will be necessary to re-configure your mail client to collect and send mail. Details of how to do this can be found in the Knowledge Base.

As a Demon Basic Mailbox customer, you will benefit from the following features:

  • Anti spam software which filters out junk mail
  • Anti phishing filtering on Demon email helps protect against the growing threat posed by Internet crime
  • Telephone support to resolve technical issues
  • Anti virus outbreak filtering stops new unknown viruses within hours of an outbreak - complementing desktop anti virus software, which often only blocks known viruses
  • All Demon email filtering is carried out while in our network before coming into contact with your workstation, whether it be a Mac, Windows PC or PDA
  • Webmail to enable access to email from home, work or while on holiday (if you were previously subscribed for Webmail)
  • No unwanted footers inserted on outbound email
  • Ability to send outbound messages up to 30MB size - great for photos and even short video clips

Domain Name renewal and cancellations

If you wish to cancel your domain name please do so 30 days before its renewal date, which is when we will invoice you for the renewal. As some Registrars charge substantial Redemption fees, we have to charge you similarly large amount if you subsequently ask us to recover your lapsed domain. We therefore respectfully ask that our invoices are paid by the due date.
